Creepy people: Part VI

This is the second part of a series on Creeps; the kind of people your mother told you to stay away from. I am warning you in advance that Part II of this series is terribly graphic and should not be read by those people who are squeamish.

Tiffany Hall, who was 26 in 2006, is truly one of the most horrible creeps that anyone could possibly be associated with. Unfortunately for Jimella Tunstall who was 23 that year, Hall was her babysitter. Hall always wanted a baby of her own but thus far, she had been unsuccessful.

On September 15, 2006, Hall summoned the East St. Louis police saying that she had miscarried. Hall and the dead baby were taken to the hospital. She would not let doctors at the hospital examine her and offered conflicting reasons for why she went into labor, alternately saying she had had consensual sex and was sexually attacked. Naturally the police were suspicious but at that time, couldn’t prove that the baby wasn’t hers.

She arranged for a funeral for the dead baby because not to do so would make the police even more suspicious. However at the funeral, she told her boyfriend that the baby really wasn’t his or hers and she confessed to him as to where the baby really came from. He in turn, notified the police and Hall was arrested and charged with five counts of first degree murder.

As you may have surmised by now, she murdered the baby’s mother and her three little children and caused the death of the seven-month fetus. Hall had been thinking about taking her victim’s fetus for some time from Tunstall before going through with it.

While Hall was at the home of Jimella Tunstall, she clubbed the pregnant woman in the head repeatedly with a table leg, then cut her fetus from her womb in a bathtub where she later drowned the victim's three young children; ages 1, 2, and 7. Tunstall's death was very graphic and very brutal. She died of a wound to the abdomen caused by a scissor-like implement.

The worst thing about this horrible event is that the young mother was alive when her abdomen was being cut open and her fetus was being removed from the victim’s womb, albeit she was unconscious.

Hall confessed on videotape that she hit Tunstall twice over the head with a table leg in Hall's mother's East St. Louis house on September 15th. (where Jimella Tunstall had gone to pick up her three children) She then bound the woman's hands and feet with duct tape. When Tunstall tried to wriggle free, Hall hit her again and taped the woman's mouth shut before dragging the unconscious woman to the bathtub. Hall used a scissor-like implement to cut open the woman's womb and remove the fetus. Tunstall subsequently bled to death which means that she was still alive while she was being butchered by that horrible creep.

Hall admitted she drowned 2-year-old Ivan Tunstall-Collins and 1-year-old Jinela Tunstall in the same bathtub where their mother had been slain, and then she looked for and found their 7-year-old brother, DeMond Tunstall. She told the little boy that it was time to take a bath, and she drowned him too.

The body of Tunstall was first hidden by Hall in a plastic container in the basement and then dragged outside into high weeds some distance from the house where it was found.

The bodies of the children were found in the washer and dryer of Tunstall's apartment, after Hall reportedly directed police there. They had searched the apartment earlier but did not look in the washer and dryer.

Tiffany Hall was sentenced to life in prison. I imagine that her life in prison must be a very uncomfortable one and is one of solitary confinement because to put her in with the general prison population would be tantamount to having her murdered by the other women in the prison who don’t look too kindly upon creeps like Tiffany Hall who commit heinous crimes like that creep did.

This isn’t the only time crimes like this one have been committed.

On July 21st 2008, investigators in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania found the body of a woman whose body had been bound with duct tape with her uterus cut open in the apartment of another woman who previously falsely claimed a newborn baby as being her own. The victim was Kia Johnson who was 18 at the time of her death. She had been due to deliver her baby shortly after her death.

The woman appeared to have been dead for about two days. Her hands and feet were bound with duct tape, and her face was covered with a plastic material that had also been secured with duct tape. There was evidence that the victim had fought her attacker before being subdued.

Andrea Curry-Demus, 38, also known as Andrea Curry who murdered the woman, brought the baby she had removed from the dead woman’s uterus to a hospital, claiming that it was her own baby.

The body was found after reporters called authorities about a foul odor coming from inside Curry-Demus' apartment. Police had been at the building previously, but did not go into that apartment, instead a relative of Curry-Demus led them to another apartment so that the police wouldn’t find the body his or her relative had murdered.

Her body showed evidence that there had been a partial evisceration — meaning her abdomen had been opened with a sharp weapon and the uterus had been opened. Detectives also found placenta at the scene.

The baby had lived through that horrible event although there had been problems initially with a low heart rate and low temperature associated with blood loss.

According to police, Curry-Demus showed up at the hospital with a so-called newborn that still had the umbilical cord attached. Tests later proved that she was not the mother.

Curry-Demus then told police she miscarried in June and didn't want to upset her own mother by telling her she had lost the baby. She said she befriended a pregnant woman and discussed buying her child when it was born, according to the criminal complaint. Curry-Demus told police she paid a woman named Tina $1,000 for the baby.
She was charged with homicide, unlawful restraint and kidnapping.

Alas, this isn’t the first time she has done this sort of thing. Curry-Demus was paroled in 1998 after serving less than 10 years in prison for her previous crimes. She was out on the streets unsupervised while serving a ten-year probation period despite having attempted to kill another mother and cut out her baby in 1990. Just three days after that assault, she snatched a three-week-old baby from a hospital. This certainly tells you something about the parole and probation systems in that state. Curry-Demus married a child rapist who is still in jail. It certainly tells you something about this creepy woman.

She is still awaiting for her trial. I will let you know the outcome of it when I learn of it. It will be posted in this article.

There you have it, folks. Two cases such as these two are enough to convince you that there are real creeps in our society. The difficulty we all have is; how do we know who they are? You may get some idea of what to look for if you go back in my blogs and read my article of September 9th of this year, titled, ‘The psychopaths in our midst.’
