Will Donald Trump be the next American president?

                             
This 69-year-old man is an extremely intelligent man. He is an American business magnate, investor, author, television personality He is the chairman and president of The Trump Organization, and the founder of Trump Entertainment Resorts. He is also a multi-billionaire. A person cannot be all of that and not be intelligent.                

He is also a Republican candidate for the position of President of the United States in the 2016 presidential election. And it is in that role that this extremely intelligent man has made his public appearance as a very stupid man.  Admittedly, we all do stupid things in our lives no matter how intelligent we may be but for the most part, we don`t do it on national television and especially if we are seeking the presidency of the United States.

The political parties in the United States choose who they want as their political leader but the American voters indirectly get to choose who they want as the president of the United States.                                                         

The election of the President and Vice President of the United States is an indirect vote in which citizens cast ballots for a slate of members of the U.S. Electoral College. It is then these electors who in turn, directly elect the President and Vice President.    

The Electoral College process consists of the selection of the electors, the meeting of the electors where they vote for President and Vice President, and the counting of the electoral votes by Congress.

The Electoral College consists of 538 electors. A majority of 270 electoral votes is required to elect the President. Each state’s entitled allotment of electors equals the number of members in its Congressional delegation: one for each member in the House of Representatives plus two for the Senators.

Under the 23rd Amendment of the Constitution, the District of Columbia is allocated 3 electors and treated like a state for purposes of the Electoral College. For this reason, in the following discussion, the word “state” also refers to the District of Columbia.

Each candidate running for President in every state has his or her own group of electors. The electors are generally chosen by the candidate’s political party, but state laws vary on how the electors are selected and what their responsibilities are.

The presidential election is held every four years on the Tuesday after the first Monday in November. Every citizen can help choose his or her state’s electors when the citizen votes for his or her choice as President because when each citizen votes for her or her candidate for Congress, he or she is actually voting for his or her candidate’s electors.

This means that if a citizen doesn’t want Donald Trump to be the President of the United States, he or she won’t be too happy with the Republican’s choice as the President of the United States. 

As an example, does anyone really believe that the Hispanics in the United States who are American citizens want Donald Trump as their new President of the United States? In 2013, there were roughly 54 million Hispanics living in the United States, representing approximately 17% of the U.S. total population, making the people of Hispanic origin one of the nation's largest ethnic population. By now, there are many more Hispanics in the United States.  Does any candidate running for the presidency of the United States really want to piss off that many people?

Donald Trump doesn’t care. Consider these two statements he made. “I will build a great wall and nobody builds walls better than me, believe me and I’ll build them very inexpensively. I will build a great, great wall on our southern border, and I will make Mexico pay for that wall, mark my words.

 Later he said, “I will build the best wall, the biggest, the strongest, not penetrable, they won’t be crawling over it, like giving it a little jump and they’re over the wall. It will cost us trillions.” Didn’t he also say that he would build it inexpensively? I also thought he wanted Mexico to pay for the building of the wall and not the Americans.  He can’t make up his mind.

 He reminds me of a person who wants to sell his house to you and when you get the money to buy the house from him, he tells you he wants more money from you. 

 Admittedly, there are a great many Mexicans sneaking into the United States and that is a great concern to the citizens of the United States but by making that statement, he is in effect slapping the faces of all Hispanics that are citizens of the United States by implying that he doesn’t want any more Hispanics in the United States.


He also said, “When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re sending people that have lots of problems. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing in crime. They’re rapists.”


He is categorially stating that the Mexican government is deliberately sending those kinds of people into the United States which is clearly not true.  Admittedly, there are some of those kinds of Mexican people slipping into the United States but the vast numbers of them are simply honest people searching for a better way of life for them and their families.    

While talking about Hispanics, Trump said, “Who’s doing the raping? Somebody’s doing the raping?”

 A 2011 U.S. Government Accountability Office study “Criminal Alien Statistics: Information on Incarcerations, Arrests and Costs” found that of the three million arrests of immigrants, legal or not, examined by investigators, only two percent were for sex offenses.


With respect to ISIS, this is what he said. I do know what to do and I would know how to bring ISIS to the table or, beyond that, defeat ISIS very quickly.”


There is no way that ISIS would sit at a table with Trump or any other national leader. The leader of ISIS has one plan and that is to widen his so-called caliphate in the Middle East and elsewhere where Muslims live. As to defeating ISIS, that may happen if he is prepared to send thousands of troops and hundreds of tanks and aircraft into Syria and Iraq but he would need the approval of Congress to obtain that goal and that isn’t likely to happen. America has already lost thousands of its citizens fighting for causes that hardly brought out the desired results. Viet Nam and Iraq are good examples of this.

He also said, Laziness is a trait in blacks.” To rub salt into the wounds of the millions of blacks he insulted, he then said, Black guys counting my money! I hate it. The only kind of people I want counting my money are little short guys that wear yarmulkes (Jews) every day.” Well, there goes the black vote for the Republican Party.

He also said about an entertainer, “Rosie is crude, rude, obnoxious and dumb.” That is a statement uttered by a pot calling a kettle black.

He also said, “While Bette Midler is an extremely unattractive woman, I refuse to say that because I always insist on being politically correct.”  To quote a common phrase the American Indians used to say about White people. “Trump. You speak with forked tongue.”

Now comes a real example of his stupidity. Trump said that, if he is elected president, he would expand deportations and end “birthright citizenship” for children born to immigrants who are here illegally. Under his plan, American-born children of immigrants also would be deported with their parents. He didn’t say whether those immigrants were from other countries other than Mexico.

This conflicts with Article XIV. Section 1 of the United States Constitution that states: All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States.

The United States Department of Homeland Security has estimated that there were as many as 11.4 million unauthorized immigrants living in the United States in January 2012. There are no doubt a great many more of them by December 2015.

Can you imagine the panic that would take place in the United States when the police and immigration authorities begin searching for these illegal immigrants? Cities and even small communities would appear as war zones and the cost of such an operation would be so far overwhelming, it could reduce the ability of federal and state governments to fulfil many of their financial obligations. And after arresting all these people and temporarily detaining them, where would they dump them? On the desert separating the United States from Mexico? At the Rio Grand and Pecos rivers? At the border crossings? And what if Mexico doesn’t want them back, then what?

And if that stupidity isn’t enough, he went  even further when he said,  “Many Muslims nurse a hatred" towards America. They (legitimate Muslim immigrants) should be banned until our country's representatives can figure out what is going on.” Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski told CNN that the ban would apply not just to Muslim foreigners looking to immigrate to the U.S., but also to Muslims looking to visit the U.S. as tourists. That is a statement of another twerp. 

Trump confirmed that his policy would not apply to current Muslims in the U.S. That is a strange statement considering that Trump, who has previously called for surveillance against mosques, said he was open to establishing a database for all Muslims living in the U.S. The Nazis in Germany did the same thing when Hitler was in power. Trump's proposal was met with enthusiasm by many of his supporters who showed their approval via social media which says little for the decency of those who follow him.   


He also said, “There's a tremendous section and cross-section of Muslims living in our country who have tremendous animosity," he told Fox News anchor Greta Van Susteren. "It does not apply to people living in the country.” Do you see the stupidity of those two statements? Both statements are at odds with the other.

Trump also said, “Without looking at the various polling data, it is obvious to anybody [that] the hatred [by Muslims against America] is beyond comprehension. Where this hatred comes from and why we will have to determine. Until we are able to determine and understand this problem and the dangerous threat it poses, our country cannot be the victims of horrendous attacks by people that believe only in Jihad, and have no sense of reason or respect for human life.”

He is suggesting that the Muslims who are fleeing ISIS have a hatred for Americans but he has no evidence of that and how does he plan to determine who has a hatred towards Americans? Is he planning to subject them to lie detection tests?

Obama's deputy national security adviser Ben Rhodes reacted to Trump's call Monday on CNN, calling it “totally contrary to our values as Americans” and pointed to the Bill of Rights' protection of freedom of religion and pointing to the "extraordinary contributions" Muslim Americans have made to the U.S.

Admittedly, most terrorist acts that are committed around the world are committed by Muslims. However, that doesn’t mean that the vast number of Muslims worldwide are actually terrorists. On the contrary, they condemn terrorism. Many Muslims around the world, especially in the Middle East are victims of Islamic Jihad. That is why they are in Immigration camps waiting to be accepted by other countries that will give them freedom and peace.

The population of Muslims in the United States is 316.2 million and the percentage of them is 2.11 of the overall population of the United States. They are growing at a rate of 80-90 thousand a year. How many Muslims in the United States are known to have committed terrorist acts in the United States? An FBI report shows that only a small percentage of terrorist attacks carried out on U.S. soil between 1980 and 2005 were perpetrated by Muslims. In the following years more Islamic homegrown terrorists surfaced and committed more terrorist acts however their numbers pale compared to the number of Muslims living in in the United States.

Christian terrorism is a bigger threat to U.S. freedom than Islamic extremism. White Americans are the biggest terror threat in the United States, according to a study by the New America Foundation. The Washington-based research organization did a review of “terror” attacks on US soil since Sept. 11, 2001 and found that most of them were carried out by radical anti-government groups or white supremacists and/or mentally challenged persons or simply losers. A survey of America Muslims found that a 63% majority of those sampled said that the freedom to engage in expression that offends Muslims or anybody else is guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution and cannot be restricted.

There is no doubt in my mind that many of Muslims in the United States would prefer to live under the strict Islamic shariah law and such courts but they are not trying to bring that about by committing acts of terrorism. The few that do these acts of terrorism are obvious misfits. It is incumbent on the vast American Muslims who want neither to live under the brutal repression of shariah nor to impose it on anybody else to work with the rest of Americans who revere and uphold the supremacy of the American Constitution in protecting the United States against the Islamic supremacists and their jihad.

I think Muslims and Christians and those of other Religions can live peacefully together in the United States and elsewhere. The root cause of intolerance is the ignorance of the teaching of Religions. All Religions in the United States, along with all the World Religions preach ethical and human values, as does the Islamic Religion.

I will admit that before Muslim refugees from Lebanon, Turkey and Jordan refugee camps are permitted to move to the United States, they should be vetted to make sure that they are not terrorists. That is an enormous task but so far, they were vetted by those countries before they got into their camps so that is a good beginning of the vetting procedures that is being done by the American authorities.

Quite frankly, I am quite disappointed at the number of Americans who believe that Donald Trump should be their new President. He is actually in the lead in the Republican race for the presidency. Do those who want this man to be their president realize just what kind of dictator that man will be? Remember Adolf Hitler? Although Trump isn’t as bad as Hitler was but those of us who were alive when Hitler was in power will remember when he advocated the removal of Jews from schools, offices, professions and finally from their homes and cities. The German citizens did nothing to stop him. It was too late. They voted him into being their chancellor and because of their indifference to the fate of the Jews, Hitler murdered them by the millions and he eventually destroyed the German nation.

Trump wants to deport millions of illegal Mexicans. Will he stop after accomplishing that goal? Will Muslims be next?

 Trump is a buffoon of that, there is no doubt. But he is a dangerous buffoon and once in power, he in my opinion, will wreak havoc on the Republican Party, the economy and wellbeing of the United States. 

There are a great many wise Americans who recognize Trump as the buffoon and danger he is to the United States and the Republican Party but when it comes to voting, will their concerns be overwhelmed by others who think Donald Trump is God’s gift to the United States and choose him to be their political leader?

It didn't take long for the rest of the Republican presidential primary field to repudiate Trump's call. Will the members of the Republican Party really vote him in as their candidate for the presidency knowing that he threatened them by telling them that if they didn’t vote him in as their candidate for the presidency, he would desert them and run for that position as an independent?


We will have to wait for the election results before we learn the answer to that question. One thing I am convinced of is that Trump has already wreaked havoc on the Republican Party and that Party may suffer as a direct result of that man’s ravings.
