ABUSES AGAINST CHILDREN BY EVIL PARENTS

There are few crimes that deserve more serious penalties than parents abusing their own children. This article is about such a parent. For what she did to her son, she received a very harsh sentence.

Tammi Bleimeyer, 37 and her husband, Bradley, 24 had two sons. The boy, Jordan who at the time of this writing was the step son of Bradley, was nine  years of age and  had to sleep in what the family called the Harry Potter room. It was a tiny crawl space under the stairs.

As an aside, back in the late fifties when I was living in Winnipeg, I rented a room in a private home but the room I rented was having construction work being done in it so I had to sleep in a small walk-in closet for thirty days.  Thank God I don’t suffer from being in small spaces. However, their meals were great. Needless to say, I moved out after the first month I was in that house. In 1992, I bought a large home and whenever I see our walk-in closet under the stairs, I sometimes think of the one I slept in back in the late fifties.

The tiny crawlspace that Jordan had to sleep in had exposed nails and wiring surrounding the small mattress he slept on.  The boy was forced to wear a diaper all the time.

The horrific case first came to light in March 2014 when the woman’s other son, who was 16 at the time, reported his mother to the authorities. 

The boy’s mother, who was six months pregnant at that time, took Jordan from the home and refused to return to the house when the police showed up.  Investigators then used cell phone records to track her to a nearby motel, where they found Jordan with his mother. When the police showed up at the motel, Jordan was covered in bumps and bruises.  Jordan was rushed to the hospital

Doctors said that Jordan, who only weighed 29 pounds at the time, had nearly starved to death. They compared his state of malnourishment to a Holocaust survivor.  A pediatrician said that the boy had suffered severe physical abuse.  Doctors said the boy could have died within days if he had not been rescued. 

The two horrible parents were arrested and put on trial. They we both charged with causing injury by omission. Prosecutors later revealed that Jordan was only fed a slice of bread a day, which was snatched out of his hand if he didn't eat it fast enough. Obviously, he was suffering from the mental torture also.  

The boy was also drugged by his father to keep him quiet when guests were over. Jordan's 16-year-old stepbrother also told authorities that he believed that someone had slammed Jordan’s head into the wall and even stunned him with a Taser. 

One of their sons said in a prepared statement directed to his parents, “'I'm up here to ask a rhetorical question. How could you put your children through all that? The people who should be your pride and joy. It's no mystery why we're all here. You made a big mistake, and ultimately you have to face the consequences.’”

. Bradley was sentenced to 15 years in prison and his equally evil wife was sentenced to 28 years in prison.  I think that both of these creeps will serve hard time when their fellow inmates learn how the treated Jordan.

Officials said Jordan's health declined rapidly after Child Protective Services (CPS) visited the Bleimeyer home in February 2014, according to the Houston Chronicle. CPS had been investigating the family that year and were called to the home several times.  Didn’t they see that there was something amiss? Did they even see Jordan during their visit? 

It is an unfortunate fact of life that parents abuse their children. It is even more unfortunate that child protective services don’t do their jobs properly.
