ABOUT MY BLOG
When I retired from the practice of
law in 2006, I was seventy-three years of age. Obviously I then had a lot of
time on my hands so I decided to spend the balance of my life doing the thing I
love doing best and that is writing. Since that year, I wrote seven books which
are published and I began writing a blog. This article is about my blog.
The different topics I choose to
write about total ninety-five. Since
2006, I have written and published as many as 1,699 articles in my blog. The
word count of each of my articles are between 1,20 to 9,00 which totals a little over one million and eighty thousand words.
I spend on average, seven hours a day
every week in my study researching topics and writing the articles.
I have 40 daily resources to choose
my topics from. They include newspapers, television, radio and my 89 books in
my study.
A
Rogue blog is one that goes against
the grain. It exists to break the mold and to stand out from the pack in an
effort to attract attention—even, sometimes, negative attention. It is polarizing. But that’s ok because Rogue blogs are founded on the principle that
‘any attention is good attention, so while some people will flee from it,
others will flock to it. The hope, of course, is that they will generate more
admirers than detractors.
So
far my, my blog has generated as many as
145,190 hits that came from the United States, and as many as 8,207 hits came from
Canada. Thousands more came from Germany, Russia, the United Kingdom, France,
Ukraine Australia, Netherlands, Poland, Singapore, Brazil, Hong Kong, Portugal,
and South Korea.
One
thing I do that pleases my viewers is the print is large enough to read without
glasses and the articles are written as a
single column.
My
opinions are my own and in Canada, the Supreme Court of Canada has ruled
twice that writers can say whatever they
wish to say about anyone if it strictly
their opinion. Years ago. I wrote an
article in my blog about a business woman whom I said in my blog that she was a
crook. She sued me for five million dollars for defamation of her character. I
represented myself in court and my argument was that what I said about her in my blog
was strictly my opinion. Her case was lost and she subsequently went bankrupt. Since
then, I have written in my blog about horrible people and none of them have
sued me. However, I take great care to
make sure that what I write in my blog is truthful.
I accept the opinions of my readers when
they place a response at the bottom of
my articles as long their response isn’t disrespectful to me and is about the
topic of the article. If the response is disrespectful to me, I will erase it from the article. I do however accept
views that are contrary to my own.
My articles are published on
Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. I rarely miss a date but when I go on a week’s
holiday, I will wait until I return home to continue publishing my articles in
my blog.
If you see in my articles, words that
are underlined, click the words with your mouse and more information on
the topic will appear on your screen.
