WHAT IS BEING
DONE TO STOP THE SPREAD OF THE COVID19 VIRUS
(Part five)
Health experts around the world are carefully watching the pandemic as
it plays out in China, where the virus originated, for clues to how the new
COVID-19 coronavirus strain works its way through a target population. At first
overwhelmed by new cases and outbreaks, Chinese officials are reporting a
sharply declining number of new cases in recent days. They have found the way
to stop the spread of this virus.
The World Health Organization announced that that there was a small
spike in the number of cases in China of the coronavirus,” The Chinese government is
actually stating that these cases are coming from the outside of China. How did
China solve the problem of the virus being spread?
Food processors, manufacturers and other businesses
that are essential for providing daily necessities in Wuhan, the city in the
province where the coronavirus emerged in December, can reopen, the Hubei
provincial government announced. Construction also has gradually resumed on
housing and public infrastructure projects in China as the country tries to bring employees back to work
while still containing the epidemic.
China took really
strong measures to control and quarantine populations, an effort that probably
contributed to the apparent decline in the number of cases of the virus in
China.
President Xi Jinping visited Wuhan when the last of
the makeshift quarantine hospitals in the city closed, signaling confidence
that China has a grip on the coronavirus, the state-controlled
China Daily reported. For a few days, the number of new cases of COVID-19, the
disease caused by the coronavirus, seemed to taper off and remain relatively
steady, indicating the respiratory illness might have reached its peak in China.
Wuhan “may have zero new cases by the end of March
if we work harder and if nothing sudden comes up,” Li Lanjuan, director of
China’s State Key Laboratory for Diagnosis and Treatment of Infectious Diseases.
There are wo things that are necessary to stop the
spread of this deadly virus.
First: Avoid
being in public locations as much as we can. That means —stay at home.
San
Francisco’s mayor has ordered residents to stay home in an effort to slow the
spread of coronavirus.
The
Mayor of London announced in a tweet
that residents will be required to stay home starting at midnight, except for
essential needs
My wife and me are remaining in our home. We have enough food for the time being. My
oldest daughter is also staying in her house.
Second: Find a cure.
I believe that the
medical scientists are close to finding a vaccine to fight this virus.
The U.S. official in charge of infectious diseases told Congress that the United States is behind other nations in testing for coronavirus, dubbing it a “failing. mark.” You can blame President Trump for that failure because when President Obama had all that equipment built, Trump got rid of them.
Dr.
Fauci offered blunt testimony as members of Congress fume over the lack of
testing at hospitals and nursing homes back home, saying it’s held back the
domestic response as South Korea and other places offer drive-in service for
those in need. hat is why South Korea appears to be reducing the amount of
victims suffering from the virus.
“The idea of anybody getting it, easily, the way
people in other countries are doing it, we’re not set up for that,” Dr. Fauci
said. “Do I think we should be? Yes, but we’re not.”
The White House says that people should avoid
gathering in groups of more than ten. They should stay away from bars
restaurants and food courts, and to not travel if at possible. That is
good advice.
The major airlines are laying off thousands of its employees
as well as large manufacturing companies
along with bars and restauarants.
Several cities including Philadelphia and San
Francisco, and entire states including Maryland have already issued the order
for bars and restaurants to close.
French
President Emmanuel Macron announced that drastic measures, prohibiting gatherings
across France, including family and other social gatherings. The second round
of the French elections will be also postponed, The the city of Paris announced
the closure of all public parks and gardens. That means that the famous Eifel
Tower is also closed. Macron said the
country is “in a war” against the coronavirus outbreak.
He said, “We
are in a war and that’s why I decided that all reforms debated in parliament
will be suspended. The government will draft a new legislation to face the
crisis. A new military hospital will be deployed to reduce hospital
congestion.”
In many countries where the virus thrives, many
empty buildings are being converted into temporary hospitals.
Ohio Governor Mike DeWine
ordered the closure of many facilities across the state in an effort to stop
the spread of coronavirus, including—
·
Fitness centers
·
Gyms
·
Bowling alleys
·
Movie theaters
·
Recreational centers
·
Indoor water parks
Ohio is now
the latest state to move elections based on the spread of the coronavirus,
joining Louisiana, where state officials moved the presidential primary to
June, and Georgia, where elections officials will postpone the March 24
presidential primary to May 19. Wyoming Democratic Party Chair Joe Barbuto
also announced Friday that "the in-person portion" of their state's
caucuses were "suspended due to growing concern" over the virus.
The
entire world is going amuck and this is just the beginning of the invasion of
the deadly virus.
